Following is the chart suggesting wagers on the NLDS. You
will note the wagers suggested are on the underdogs as was one of yesterdays.
Cleveland was the only favorite suggested for a wager. It reminds me of a
session I attended at a SABR convention (Society for American Baseball
Research) in St Louis many years ago. The presenter had analyzed World Series
and Playoff results over the years. He developed a methodology for identifying the
better team based on their season’s records. He found the results were
independent of which team was identified as the better. His conclusion was that
the series are too short to allow the better team to surface. We’ll see.
