Test Accounts Week 13

Another good week for the S&P 500 finishing up 1.7% over the previous week. The three robo-advisers also finished up. Betterment gained 1.2%, Wealthfront was up 1.0%, and Schwab’s Intelligent Portfolios gained 1.3%. Again, they have smaller swings than the S&P 500 because they have a portion invested in bonds. For the period we’ve been doing this, Betterment leads the other two with a 3.5% return. All have outperformed the S&P 500 (2.8%).

Folio Investing had the best week, finishing up 2.5%. There are five portfolios in this account and all outperformed the S&P 500 last week led by the Biotechnology Ready to Go (RTG) folio, up 4.17% for the week. It’s up 12.63% since we started, compared to Analyst Upgrades RTG up 0.21% and Dogs of the Dow RTG, up 0.42%. These results have prompted me to plan on some changes. Lending Club gained another 0.3% last week, slow but steady.
